SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE II review

While the Note II does resemble the S III, its feel and finish is miles ahead. Despite its plastic chassis and fake chrome trim, it feels like a premium device and is easily one of the best-built phones available. The brushed metal-like finish is coated with some sort of lacquer, so despite a glossy finish, it doesn't attract smudges. The front is dominated by a 5.5-inch HD
Super AMOLED slab that's protected by Gorilla Glass 2. The sides feature the power button and the volume rocker, while the microUSB port is at the bottom
and the 3.5 mm headphone jack is on the top. The S Pen stylus docks in around the back beside the speaker grill.Samsung's Nature UX from the S III and Jelly Bean make a perfect couple as the experience is just as good as stock Jelly Bean.
The gallery has been upgraded
and you can now view your photos in funky diff erent ways, the coolest of which is a 3D spiralling view. The S Pen works based on Wacom’s inductive technology
and it’s also a lot more sensitive to finer inputs now. Another reason why everything runs buttery smooth is due to the mighty quad-core Exynos SoC on board. It’s the same one as in the S III,only now it runs at 1.6 GHz instead of 1.4 GHz. This gives it the extra oomph
needed for the split-screen functionality without even skipping a beat.
The Wolfson audio chip on board ensures very good audio quality through the speakers as well as the bundled headphones. The video player supports MP4, MKV and everything in between. 1080p video just
works and the new Pop up play feature works as advertised. The Note II is a quad-band GSM handset with quad-band 3G support and LTE. You also get dual-band Wi-Fi with hotspot capabilities and Wi-Fi Direct, GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS, USB
OTG, DLNA, external storage up to 64 GB,Bluetooth 4.0, and TV out via MHL and NFC, which covers all your connectivity options. The Note II comes equipped with an 8 megapixel camera and an LED flash,
just like the camera in the S III. Other than the fact that it’s a little difficult to handle, the Note II stands out as the best Android money can buy right now.
